Jeff was born and raised in Thunder Bay and has lived in the city most of his life. He attended Lakehead University and began his accounting career in Fort Frances in 1996. He has worked for the national accounting firm BDO Canada LLP and the local accounting firm Buset Sarvas Mozzon LLP.

Jeff has lived and worked in areas extending from Fort Frances to Sault Ste Marie during his time as a professional accountant. He has experience as an internal auditor for Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and experience as a financial controller for a local tribal council.

Jeff was a member of the Board of Directors of the John Howard Society of Thunder Bay and District.
